PGP key
What is a PGP Key?
- PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is an encryption technology designed to protect email communication by providing privacy and authentication.
- A PGP key pair includes a public key (used to encrypt emails) and a private key (used to decrypt emails).
- By using PGP keys, you can ensure that only the intended recipient can read the message you send.
Why Use PGP Keys for Email?
- Email Security - Email is often vulnerable to unauthorized access. PGP encryption secures email content, preventing third parties from reading your messages.
- Sender Authentication - PGP verifies the sender’s identity, ensuring the email genuinely comes from the person claiming to send it.
- Message Integrity - PGP helps maintain data integrity by ensuring that emails are not altered during transmission, giving both sender and receiver peace of mind.
